At Girton Glebe Primary School, we are proud to use our Sports Premium funding to enhance the quality and breadth of our physical education and sports provision. The Sports Premium is a government initiative designed to help primary schools improve the delivery of PE and sport, ensuring that all children develop healthy, active lifestyles and a lifelong love of physical activity.
Our aim is to use this funding to increase participation, raise achievement, and improve wellbeing through a range of physical activities both during and beyond the school day. We invest in staff training to build long-term teaching expertise, develop new sports opportunities for all pupils, improve equipment and facilities, and strengthen links with local sports clubs and community providers.
We are committed to ensuring that the impact of the Sports Premium is sustainable. This means focusing on developing staff confidence and knowledge, embedding high-quality PE across the curriculum, and maintaining equipment and facilities that will continue to benefit future pupils. We also encourage pupils to develop leadership skills through sports roles such as playground leaders and team captains, helping to create a culture of enjoyment and inclusion.
A detailed breakdown of how we have allocated our Sports Premium funding — including information on swimming and water safety — can be found in the documents linked below.
