As the government have announced widespread school closures, our teaching staff have prepared learning packs to support your children during this period of home isolation. There is a Provision Menu for each class; these documents contain suggested activities and tasks linked to our current classroom learning.
The packs have been designed so children can select from a range of activities, picking and choosing the tasks they complete. There is no expectation the children will complete all of these activities, however, regular reading and spelling practice will be important during the period of closure and provision for this is also included.
Amongst the weblinks provided, you will find resources to support your child’s physical and mental wellbeing. These include links to Joe Wicks’ Active 8 videos, County PE Team suggestions, along with mindfulness and yoga challenges. Please feel free to supplement these with further ideas of your own.
On returning to school, unless indicated, the work that children have completed will not be marked by teaching staff, although there will be opportunities for the children to share their work with their peers.
Home isolation will be a huge challenge for us all and I would like to share the following link relating to mental health and wellbeing with you. I have shared this link and other resources to all members of staff as it contains some invaluable advice for such unprecedented circumstances:
The posters below also provide suggestions for keeping active.
Please keep yourself and your loved ones safe and we hope that normal service can be resumed at the earliest opportunity.
Thank you for your continued support.
